ALICUDI

Alicudi is the most remote of the Aeolian islands. Its 140 inhabitants are nicknamed “arcudari”. It is characterized by its picturesque houses, narrow lanes and charming San Bartolo church.

It is a hiker’s paradise, its footpaths leading to breathtakingly beautiful panoramic spots. Its many steps are also one of its distinctive features, since the island has no roads suitable for cars.

Any daily activity implies walking up the many steps connecting the port to the other parts of the island.

The main means of transport here on Alicudi are mules, used to carry goods, luggage and other items around the island.

This gives the island its authentic and traditional atmosphere. The slow lifestyle of the island life is perfect for those seeking peace and quiet.
